The MacKerricher Visitor Center is located on the park's entrance from Highway 1. The center is staffed by volunteers and the sales of items at the Nature Store assists in funding park's interpretive and educational activities. Interpretive displays at the center investigate the ecology of both terrestrial and ocean environments. Visitors can observe a woodland diorama complete with animal inhabitants or learn about the world of the Marine Mammal through study of skeletal mounts of a California Sea Lion and a 30' Gray Whale.
